is it over again Tom Brady opened up about whether he sees himself in the next NFL season after previously announcing a brief retirement.
During an episode of his "Let's Go!" podcast released on Monday, November 28, Brady, 45, opened up about his plans to play football once the current season is over. The athlete's co-host Jim Gray asked if he would "at least come back" next year before bringing up "the 18-game portion of this winning streak."
In response, Brady joked, "That's right, that's right. I'm on borrowed time anyway, so."
The California native noted that his focus right now is "day by day, game by game," adding, "I love the sport so I love preparing for it. I love to see how we improve and get better. And I think there are definitely things on the practice ground that have improved."
Brady also gushed about his love of competition, although he wants to remain focused on "what we need to do to improve this week and go out and train."
Earlier this year, Brady made headlines when he announced his retirement from the NFL after 20 years as a professional quarterback. Six weeks later, the footballer confirmed his return plans.
"In the last two months it has become clear to me that my place is still on the field and not in the stands," he wrote via Twitter in March. "That time will come. But it's not now. I love my teammates and I love my supportive family. They make everything possible. I'm coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa. Unfinished business LFG."
After ending his brief retirement, Brady opened up about how his dedication to his job impacted his personal life.
“A lot of decisions were made and everything. I think the point is that everything really comes at a price - choosing one thing and not another. I just have to make sure things are balanced the way I need them to be balanced," the NFL player, who shares son Benjamin, 12, and daughter Vivian, 9, with now-ex-wife Gisele Bundchen, told us in June exclusively."I think for me it's just a matter of making sure in the off-season that I'm trying to cover a lot of things and making sure that a lot of things get done. And then when a football season comes around I can do the focus really into football."
He continued, "[During] the off-season, my family has a lot of time off. That was fun. I can always do better. It's just a constant attempt to get a little bit better every day.”
Four months later, the Buccaneers quarterback and the 42-year-old model announced their divorce amid divided speculation.
"In the past few days my wife and I have finalized our divorce after 13 years of marriage," Brady wrote on his Instagram Story in October. “We made this decision amicably and in gratitude for the time we had together. We are blessed with beautiful and wonderful children who will continue to be the center of our world in every way. We will continue to work together as parents to ensure they receive the love and attention they deserve."
For her part, Bundchen discussed the couple's plans to co-parent their children in her own statement, writing, "Deciding to end a marriage is never easy, but we grew apart and going through something like that is obviously difficult for me." feel blessed for the time we had together and always wish Tom the best.”
