Tom Parker: The Wanted singer diagnosed with inoperable brain tumour

"I'll be here, I'll fight it," said the 32-year-old, who is undergoing radiation therapy
Tom Parker, a member of the boy band The Wanted, was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor.
The 32-year-old singer said he was "still in shock" after being told he had stage 4 glioblastoma six weeks ago.
"I knew something was wrong, but I never expected it to be."
Talk to OK! Magazine, the singer said he would remain positive despite being told the cancer was fatal. "I'll be here," he added. "I'll fight that."
Parker rose to fame as part of The Wanted in the early 2010s, peaking at number one with the singles All Time Low and Glad You Came.
Since her hiatus in 2014, he has played Danny Zuko in a touring production of Grease and made it to the Celebrity Masterchef semifinals.
He married actress Kelsey Hardwick in 2018. The couple have a 16-month-old daughter, Aurelia, and are expecting their second child.

Parker had a seizure in July and was placed on a waiting list for an MRI scan. Six weeks later, while on a family trip to Norwich, he had another more severe attack and was hospitalized.
After three days of testing, he was diagnosed with cancer. His wife was banned from hospital due to Covid-19 restrictions and he received the news himself.
What is a glioblastoma?
Glioblastoma is the most common type of brain tumor that starts in the brain
It is the most aggressive form of adult brain tumor and is often resistant to treatment
It is believed that the diversity of cells in a glioblastoma is one of the reasons it is so difficult to treat, given that current drugs are unable to effectively target all cell types in the tumor

On Monday, the couple posted a message on Instagram that Parker had started chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
"We'll fight all the way," they said. "We don't want your sadness, we just want love and positivity and together we will raise awareness of this terrible disease and look for all available treatments."
Glioblastoma is the most aggressive brain tumor in adults. Speaking to OK !, the couple said they hadn't asked for a timescale of how it was likely to develop.
"I said it wasn't good for Tom's state of mind and who he was as a person," Hardwick said. "He would literally sit here and count the days and not live his life."
Parker added, "There are so many stories of people who got a bad forecast and are here five, ten or even 15 years later. We'll fight all the way."
The couple were inundated with messages of support on Monday morning.
"Always send so much love and support," wrote Olympic swimmer Rebecca Adlington in a comment below her Instagram post.
"We love you Tom!" added James "Arg" Argent of The Only Way Is Essex, who appeared with Parker on ITV's 2018 cancer fundraiser, The Real Full Monty. "We have this brother, no doubt!"
The Wanted sold more than 10 million records worldwide (L-R): Siva Kaneswaran, Max George, Nathan Sykes, Tom Parker and Jay McGuiness
Hardwick added that Parker's bandmates had gathered and Jay McGuinness and Max George had been visiting the couple in the past few weeks.
"Siva [Kaneswaran] and Nathan [Sykes] obviously live a lot farther away, but all four boys texted regularly and sent out various articles and possible treatments and therapies that they all read about. They were amazing."
