In a YouTube video titled "I broke up with her" on Wednesday, the reality star told of his relationship with Farago, revealing to fans that "he had to end things to protect me and Francesca."

According to Jowsey, who met Farago on the set of the Netflix dating show in 2019, he was initially "in love" with his Costar, but things got more complicated when they saw themselves at a long distance after production ended. (Jowsey is originally from Australia, while Farago currently lives in Vancouver, Canada.)
"I flew to Vancouver to spend time with Francesca and saw another side of Francesca at that point," he recalled in the video. "Long story short, I broke up with her for the first time after visiting me in Australia."

Jowsey continued: "There was a big reason why I had to break up with Francesca because I was in a very dark place in my life."
However, according to Jowsey, the separation was short-lived. The two reconciled when Too Hot to Handle premiered on Netflix, although Jowsey admitted that he still felt "really damaged" and "hurt" at the time.
"I saw Francesca and I remember holding her ... and I could feel how much she still loved me and I just didn't have that feeling anymore," he recalled, feeling emotional. "But I didn't want to give up anything. I didn't want to let go because I knew what we got was super, super rare."
Although Jowsey finally called it a second time, he told fans that Farago "will always have a special place in my heart."
"I will always love Francesca," he added. "I will always have a weakness for her in my heart."

On Tuesday, Farago brought the news of their separation from Jowsey in a YouTube video titled "Our Breakup". The Australian was the one who broke off his relationship because "he was no longer able to make long distance calls".
"I really thought we were going through a rocky time and we would find out," she said. "I thought we would end up together. I thought we would get married."
"There are a lot of things that I personally believe I can no longer tolerate for my sanity. I can't pretend a relationship. I can't pretend everything is fine," Farago said, tearing apart. "I decide to publish this video to announce that we are not together and will not come back together because I had to consolidate that in my own brain."

Joswey addressed some of the things Farago mentioned in his video on Wednesday, and confirmed his ex's claim that they often argued while they were together.
"We were always nervous when we were together," he said. "The happiest moments of my life were with her, but when things were bad, they were really bad. Every time we fought, it was simply the worst and most depressed time of my life."
"Everyone in my circle will tell you that I've never been so sad and happy in my whole life," he added.
"People change and sometimes you see things in people you don't want to see, you don't want to have. I just had to end it because ... I knew that if I continued to be with Francesca it would lead to it that she is seriously heartbroken or that I am constantly seriously depressed in the relationship. "

In the video, Jowsey also explained why he was waiting to go public with the split. Now that he lives in Los Angeles and Farago plans to move to the same city, he said, "We realized that our relationship didn't build the basic steps for building a healthy relationship, so we wanted to start as friends at a friendship level and build that love again. "
"The last thing I wanted to do was give up love and give it up," he added.
The couple's manager told PEOPLE in a statement that the duo "will always be grateful for the love and experience they have shared".
"While Francesca and Harry have ended their relationship, they will always be grateful for the love and experience they have shared," the statement said. "They have grown tremendously over the past two years and are deeply grateful for the love and support they have received from all of you. They appreciate you and look forward to getting in touch with you as you enter your next chapter . "
