Trump lashes back at Michigan Governor Whitmer

After a failed attempt to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, US President Donald Trump seized the moment to crack down on the governor Thursday night and accused her of being ungrateful to his administration.
Thirteen people, seven of whom belonged to an anti-government militia group called Wolverine Watchmen, were arrested on conspiracy to kidnap them ahead of next month's presidential election.
At a press conference, Whitmer accused Trump of inciting political extremism.
Trump hit back, accusing the governor of doing a "terrible job" quote.
His tweet read: "My Department of Justice and federal law enforcement announced today that they have foiled a dangerous conspiracy against the Michigan governor. Instead of thanking me, they call me a white supremacist."
Whitmer has been a frequent Trump target for their efforts to enforce social distancing measures.
And on Thursday, she slammed Trump's comments on last week's presidential debate as the president distracted the opportunity to condemn white supremacist groups.
"When our leaders meet, encourage and fraternize with local terrorists, they legitimize their actions and are complicit."
Earlier, US lawyer for the western district of Michigan, Andrew Birge, had detailed the botched conspiracy to kidnap Whitmer, attack the Capitol Building, and forcibly overthrow Michigan's government - an operation on FBI agents in the social Media became aware.
Internal US security advisories in recent months have warned that violent domestic extremists could pose a threat to election-related targets.
