Trump news – live: President accuses ‘crazy’ media over bad poll numbers as he loses support in six states and 1.5m Americans apply for unemployment

Donald Trump has continued his attack on the media, especially the latest polls showing the president in six major battlefield countries. A poll released on Thursday found former Vice President Joe Biden leading the president in states like Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.
Blaming the media for his slip in the polls comes as an additional 1.5 million American jobless support file amid the coronavirus pandemic, bringing the official figure to about 47.2 million. Mr. Trump has tried to curb concerns about the growth of coronavirus cases by saying this is due to increased testing, but that doesn't explain the increase in hospitalization in states like Texas.
On Twitter, the president also struck peaceful demonstrators of the Black Lives Matter, calling them "wandering gangs of sages, anarchists and looters" as statues continue to topple across the country and the country expects its dark history after George's murder Floyd by the Minneapolis police a month ago today.
