Trump's 200th judge called for "complete and immediate reversal" of Roe v. Wade

The Senate confirmed on Wednesday the candidate for President Trump's federal judge, Cory Wilson, a Mississippi lawyer and former lawyer who called for the "full and immediate" reversal of Roe v. Wade has requested. Wilson will sit on the traditionally conservative 5th US Court of Appeals, a court highly regarded by abortionists. In 2007, during a congressional campaign, Wilson sought approval from Mississippi Right to Life, a state member of the country's largest anti-abortion right group. During this process, the lawyer filled out a questionnaire stating his position on abortion rights, stating that he was responsible for the "complete and immediate" reversal of Roe v. Wade was the 1973 Supreme Court decision that nationalized the process. Wilson agreed with Mississippi's anti-abortion platform for abortion rights in almost all but one topic. While the activist group believed that abortion should be available to "save the patient's life," Wilson did not. On the questionnaire, he pointed out that abortion should be illegal in all cases, even if the procedure could save the patient's life.
Only 26 countries, including El Salvador and Iraq, have passed such strict abortion laws, according to the Center for Reproductive Rights, an abortion law firm.
"Forty years later, we are still living under Roe v. Wade, the result of a liberal activist court," wrote Wilson in a 2012 poll that supported Mitt Romney's presidential election.
Wilson did not return a voicemail and email requesting a comment. Mississippi Right to Life did not respond to an email requesting a comment.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Senate Wilson, President Trump's 200th candidate, confirmed with 52 to 48 votes to the 5th US Court of Appeals. With Wilson's confirmation, Mr. Trump has now filled all vacancies at the federal courts.
When asked about his abortion stance during his Senate confirmation hearings, Wilson declined to "comment on political issues ... that may come to court," but said political or personal views "did not matter." play in deciding cases "A judge. Through judicial nominations, Mr. Trump has committed to lifting abortion protection. During the 2016 campaign, Mr. Trump told voters that if he were elected, Roe would "automatically be overturned ... because I am bringing real-life judges to justice."
Anti-abortion groups praised Wednesday's confirmation. In a statement emailed to CBS News, Tom McClusky, March for Life Action president, wrote that Trump "had successfully reshaped federal justice."
"We have already seen positive developments in women and unborn babies," said McClusky.
The Supreme Court could soon rule on its first major abortion rights case since two Trump-appointed judges Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh took over the bank. The much awaited decision in the June Medical Services v. Russo case will express its willingness to reduce current legal protection related to abortion rights. Wilson's new court, the traditionally conservative 5th US Court of Appeals, is an extremely influential court for abortion rights activists on both sides of the subject. In Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas, the court is mandated to comply with some of the country's strictest procedures. Earlier this year, the federal court ruled that Texas could ban abortion services amid the coronavirus pandemic as part of the state ban on some medical procedures.
In 2018, the court upheld Louisiana’s restriction on June Medical Services’s center against Russo, despite a 2016 Supreme Court ruling finding an almost identical Texas law unconstitutional.
