Trump's Bizarre COVID-19 Question Gets Plenty Of Answers On Twitter

President Donald Trump said Tuesday he didn't know what the "19" in COVID-19 stood for.
Amid a riff where he also made racist jokes about the corona virus, Trump said he was amazed at the official name of the infection.
"COVID-19, COVID, I said what is 19?" he asked at an event in Arizona. "COVID-19, some people can't explain the 19."

This 19 refers to 2019, the year in which the specific coronavirus behind the current pandemic was identified. But Trump is not the only one in his administration who is confused by the nickname.
In April, President Kellyanne Conway's adviser proposed the World Health Organization's response to the pandemic, suggesting that it should have been better prepared based on all previous COVIDs.
"This is COVID-19 - not COVID-1, folks," said Conway. "And so you would think that the people in charge of the World Health Organization would get there."
Trump's loud thinking about the "19" part of the disease name received treatment on Twitter:

President * Trump cannot remember the year in which the 1918 flu pandemic occurred. So it makes sense that he has no idea that the 19 in # COVID19 is for 2019.

President * Trump's aggressive ignorance leads to more deaths from American # COVID19, and Republican senators refuse to remove him.
