Trump tells Fox News he had 'congestion' in his lungs, giving a small window into his COVID-19 infection
President Donald Trump said lung scans done while he was at Walter Reed Medical Center showed that he had a "blockage" in his lungs following his diagnosis of COVID-19.
The president appeared on Fox News on Friday and said he had lung tests while he was in the hospital last week after testing positive for the coronavirus.
"They tested the lungs ... with different machines ... and it tested well," he said. "At first I think they had an overload there but in the end it turned out to be good and every day it got better and I think that's why they wanted me to be honest."

President Donald Trump revealed details of his battle with COVID-19, saying he had an "overload" in his lungs during his hospital stay at Walter Reed Medical Center.
The president appeared in an interview with Dr. Marc Siegel from Fox News during the Tucker Carlson show. Siegel, a doctor and professor of medicine at New York University, has largely praised the Trump administration's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The president said he had lung scans in the hospital last week after testing positive for the coronavirus.
"They tested the lungs ... with different machines ... and it tested well," Trump said. "At first I think they had an overload there but in the end it turned out to be good and every day it got better and I think that's why they wanted me to be honest."
The White House Doctor, Dr. Sean Conley said that hospital scans "showed expected findings but nothing of major clinical significance," he said in a statement but failed to clarify what those findings were.
Trump tested positive for the virus last week and stayed with Walter Reed for several days to do tests and treatments for the coronavirus. He returned to the White House earlier this week but has not yet released the results of a test that shows he no longer has the virus.
When asked by the doctor on Fox News if he had been retested for the virus, he said, "I got tested again and I haven't even found the numbers or anything, but I got tested again and I know I did am either at the bottom or free. "
When asked on Fox News if he knew how he contracted the virus, the president said he did not know.
"I don't know, they had some big events in the White House. Maybe there. I don't really know. Nobody really knows. Lots of people signed it."
Trump said during the Fox News interview that he has not been on any drug for COVID-19 for "eight hours."
