President Donald Trump described Carly Fiorina as a "failed presidential candidate" after she announced that she would vote for Joe Biden in the 2020 election.
Ms. Fiorina, the only woman running in the 2016 Republican presidential election, said she will vote for the alleged democratic candidate during a performance on The Atlantic's podcast, The Ticket, in November.
Ms. Fiorina said: "I was very sure I could not support Donald Trump" and added: "You know, elections are binary decisions. I will say this: I think I hope Biden understands that this moment in history requires that he be a leader, not a politician. "
When asked whether this means that she will vote for Mr. Biden in the 2020 presidential election, the 65-year-old replied, "Well, it's not until November, is it?" I don't vote for Trump. It is a binary choice. So if you're facing a binary choice, yes. "
In response to Ms. Fiorina's comments, the president tweeted: "The failed presidential candidate (thank you President Trump!) Carly Fiorina said she would vote for the corrupt Joe Biden."

The failed presidential candidate (thanks President Trump!), Carly Fiorina, said she would vote for the corrupt Joe Biden. She lost so much to me twice in a campaign that she should vote for Joe. No complaints!!!

During the 2016 area code, Ms. Fiorina retired from the race and became Ted Cruz's suggested running companion before leaving just seven days later.
This made Ms. Fiorina's vice presidential nomination the shortest in US history, and Mr. Trump added: “She lost twice against me so badly in a campaign that she should vote for Joe. No complaints!!!"
During her appearance at The Ticket, Ms. Fiorina said she thinks Mr. Biden will be a better president than Mr. Trump because "he can find common ground on a bipartisan basis."
Ms. Fiorina added: “I am encouraged that Joe Biden is a person with humility, empathy and character, even though they do not agree on politics. I think he showed that through his life. "
The former candidate voted for Mr. Trump in 2016, but said to CNN's Poppy Harlow in December 2019, saying, "It is important that he be charged."
At the time, she did not confirm whether she would vote for the president in November, but said: "It depends on whom the Democrats line up."
Ms. Fiorina is not the first Republican to publicly declare that she will vote for someone other than the current president in the November election.
Colin Powell, the former Secretary of State under George W. Bush, told CNN's Jake Tapper earlier this month that he would vote for Mr. Biden.
Mr. Powell told the host that he did not vote for Mr. Trump in 2016, adding, "I cannot support President Trump this year under any circumstances."
The former foreign minister said he was close to Mr. Biden "socially and politically" and "he is now the candidate and I will vote for him".
Former Trump administration national security adviser John Bolton, who is ready to publish a paper on his time in the White House, recently said he would not vote for the president.
"I don't think he's fit for office," said Mr. Bolton ABC to Mr. Trump. "I don't think he has the competence to do the job. I don't think he's a conservative Republican."
He added: "I will not vote for him in November. I certainly will not vote for Joe Biden either."
Mr. Bolton said that "he will find a conservative Republican to write to".
