Tucker Carlson Bizarrely Suggests Capitol Insurrection Was Orchestrated by FBI

Fox News
Fox News host Tucker Carlson took his January 6th denial Tuesday night to another level, suggesting that the Capitol riot was an FBI-staged false flag to "suppress political disagreements."
Almost from the moment former President Donald Trump urged thousands of MAGA supporters to storm the U.S. Capitol to prevent Congress from confirming Joe Biden's election victory, Carlson has downplayed the violent rioting and repeatedly insisted that there was "no uprising" and that it was nothing more than an "rampant political protest".
At the same time, the far-right Fox News star has rallied in defense of the Capitol rioters, portraying them as largely peaceful protesters while raging against federal prosecutors over the hundreds of criminal charges filed after the uprising. With more rioters facing potential charges, many have chosen to work with federal agencies to avoid or reduce prison terms.
And, according to Carlson, the reason the government "threw the book" to some rioters and not others is because of a deep conspiracy to control the political narrative.
Carlson targeted Attorney General Merrick Garland for announcing a new strategy to combat domestic terrorism and violent extremism after the Sept. 6 attack.
After citing Russian President Vladimir Putin's recent Whataboutism argument about the Capitol Riots, in which Putin referred to the death of Capitol rioter Ashli Babbit, to divert answering a question about imprisoned Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny Carlson said Putin asked "fair questions".
"Who shot Ashli Babbitt and why don't we know?" Carlson added. “Are anonymous federal agents now allowed to kill unarmed women who protest against the regime? Is that okay now? No, it's not okay. "
Carlson went on to say that the government "is hiding the identities of many law enforcement officers present at the Capitol on January 6, not just the one who killed" Babbit, saying that the government's own court records show that officials are violently involved in the rampage.
"We know this because the government insistently pelted the book at most of the people who were in the Capitol on January 6," he exclaimed. “There was a nationwide trawl to find them. Many of them are still in solitary confinement tonight. "
"But oddly enough, some of the key people who attended on January 6th were not charged," he continued. “Look at the documents, the government calls these people unindicted co-conspirators. What does that mean? Well, it means they were potentially FBI agents in every single case. "Really?" In the Capitol on January 6th? "
Using the indictment against Oath Keeper Thomas Caldwell as an example, Carlson noted that the documents listed two other people who had not yet been charged but were organizers of the riot.
“The government knows who they are, but they haven't charged them. Why this? You know why, ”Carlson said with a dramatic nod. “You must have all worked for the FBI. So, according to government documents, FBI agents organized the January 6th attack on the Capitol! "
Carlson then also alleged that the extremist conspiracy to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer was an FBI conspiracy, insisting that the government use the same tactic this time after 9/11.
"If you authorize the government to violate civil liberties in prosecuting a foreign terrorist organization, it is only a matter of time before ambitious politicians use the same mechanisms to quell political disagreements," he grumbled. "And we see that now."
