UConn guard Anna Makurat to transfer from Huskies

STORRS, Conn. - UConn guard Anna Makurat has decided to switch.
The second year Pole played 48 games with the Huskies in her two seasons with an average of 6.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and three assists per game.
She was a member of the 2020 American Athletic Conference all-freshman team, but only played 16 games in her sophomore year and missed 13 games after being diagnosed with a stress fracture in her right leg in January.
"We appreciate Anna for her efforts and for being a great team-mate over the past two seasons," coach Geno Auriemma said in a statement on Tuesday. "We wish Anna and her family all the best as she continues her college career."
UConn finished the season 28-2 and lost to Arizona in the Final Four.
Makarut's sister, striker Ola Makurat, recently announced she was leaving Utah. Neither said where she was going next.
"I grew a lot in my first two years in America both on and off the court," Anna Makurat said in a statement. "I wish everyone at UConn all the best and look forward to my next chapter."
The Huskies have no seniors in their program and another high-level recruiting class is coming to Storrs, which includes guard Azzi Fudd, Morgan Wootten Girls High School's basketball player of the year.
