'Vampire Diaries' Actors Paul Wesley and Matthew Davis Clashed Over the Vice Presidential Debate
The Vampire Diaries actors Paul Wesley and Matthew Davis got caught in a minor Twitter feud during the Vice Presidential debate last night.
Matthew reportedly believed Mike Pence didn't get enough time to speak.
A lot can be said about last night's Kamala Harris and Mike Pence vice-presidential debate - their hair spoke volumes, the bow tie was symbolic, fracking = bad for the environment - and former Vampire Diaries co-stars Paul Wesley (who played Stefan Salvatore) and Matthew Davis (who played Alaric Saltzman) got into an argument and shared their views on Twitter.

Apparently, as Davis watched, he was most bothered by Donald Trump's runner-up who allegedly didn't have enough time to talk. In tweets that have since been deleted, Davis suggested that Pence was interrupted too much by the presenter. Wesley called Pence and replied, "It would also be nice if Pence answered the question he was originally asked instead of a distraction."
Things escalated quickly from then on, with Davis claiming, "Paul likes to vote for criminals and losers, just as he did in 2016. Your views on this matter matter little to me. Go on." He later deleted that too.

Then, in an attempt to end Davis' claims, Wesley made a TVD joke, saying, "Guys Alaric drank some verbena that he's losing," which was indicative of the herb the characters went through before inspection Vampires protected. By the way, Wesley also made it clear that he didn't vote for Trump in 2016.
That virtual confrontation also included Davis nudging Wesley's fans and sarcastically calling them "super classy" and signaling his boredom by typing "yawn". It seems that by this point Wesley decided to move on and say, "Relieve yourself boy you know you miss me. @ImMatthew_Davis loves you mate."
