Vegan woman leaves boyfriend upset with ‘unreasonable’ cooking rules: ‘I’m not comfortable doing that’

A woman refuses to prepare non-vegan meals for her boyfriend's son.
She shared why, "Am I the A ******" on the Reddit forum. The problem is that her boyfriend expects her to make two versions of dinner each day. However, she doesn't buy his explanation for the new requirement.
"My boyfriend and I live together and he has a 6 year old from a previous relationship," she wrote. "He works until 6:30 pm every day, so I usually do dinner, do all the shopping, etc. I've been vegan all my life so I obviously cook vegan. His kid has no problem with eating what I cook . "
At first the friend agreed. Then he asked her to buy non-vegan products like cow's milk and butter.
"Then he asked me if I could use cow's milk and butter in things like mashed potatoes for dinner for him and his child," she continued. "I immediately refused and said he was more than welcome to make his own mashed potatoes and whatever, but I don't make two meals when there is little difference in using non-dairy milk and butter. Now says he worried his kid was vegan enough, needed calcium, etc. Doc and nutritionist say the kid is fine, I told him I'm fine buying him non-vegan food so he can cook for himself and his child if they want this non-vegan food. But I don't cook non-vegan food, I don't feel comfortable with it, and I don't make more versions of food than necessary. "
The friend argued that if he had to have dinner after work he would "starve" and the family would not be able to eat together because his son goes to sleep at 7:30 pm.
"Realistically, it sounds like you're being unreasonable. If he comes home at 6:30 PM that leaves very little time to cook before his child has to go to bed," commented one user.
"If the doctor and nutritionist say the child is okay with the vegan diet, you can cook whatever you want," wrote another.
"If he didn't have you there to freely feed him and the child, what would he do?" someone added.
