"I used to wear a lot of structured dresses with a bodice," the former Spice Girls member recalled.
Although she kept many of the dresses, Beckham said that her style has become "more relaxed" over the years.
"Looking back, I think it was a sign of uncertainty that I would always wear clothes that were very tight and very tailored," she said.

Victoria Beckham said that wearing "very tight" outfits when she was younger was a "sign of uncertainty" during an interview with the Guardian on Saturday.
The 46-year-old fashion designer asked questions from graduates from the youngest fashion industry. A student asked Beckham to discuss how her personal style had developed over the years.
"When I was at the Spice Girls, there were stylists who dressed the group, but I have never worked with a stylist in my private life. I used to wear a lot of structured dresses with a bodice, and I still have some of these dresses , but my personal style has become more relaxed, "she said.
Beckham added, "Looking back, I think it was a sign of uncertainty that I would always wear clothes that were very tight and very tailored."

Beckham, who founded her eponymous label in 2008 and shares four children with her husband David Beckham, said that both their personal and professional lives have driven them from body-hugging dresses to their distinctive, bespoke silhouettes.
"I just can't walk around the studio and do everything with high heels. I juggle a lot: being a mother, being a woman, being in the studio every day," she said.
The former pop star recalled that people had gotten so used to their figure-hugging wardrobe and sky-high heels that a distraction as small as wearing pants and flats surprised the fans.
"I remember a time on a show in New York when I was wearing male pants and sneakers and everyone was going crazy: 'Oh my god, she's wearing sneakers!'" Said Beckham.
Beckham, who came to the Spice Girls when she was around 20, said that she had become more self-confident with age and had dressed more for herself than for others.
"I know what works for me, what looks good, what makes me confident and comfortable. I don't have the feeling that I have something to prove in my clothes now," she said.

While Beckham successfully broke into the high fashion world - a feat often attempted but rarely accomplished by celebrities who have become designers - she sees her path from pop star to respected fashion designer more as "evolution" than " Transformation". during a January interview with Harper's Bazaar. Self-acceptance, she explained, is crucial to get where it is today.
"Do I consider myself beautiful?" She asked. "No, absolutely not. But I make the best of what I have. I see my imperfections and shortcomings and smile: It is who I am and I will not try to change that. It took a long, long time with I'm actually fine for 45 years. I work hard, I look good, I have four children I'm incredibly proud of, a wonderful husband and I feel satisfied. "
Beckham added, "When you're tall, you're obsessed with the most ridiculous things, but as you get older, you learn how to feel comfortable in your own skin."
