A rented 2021 Lamborghini Urus reportedly caused serious damage to a semi-detached home in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. in late July after flying through a stop sign, hitting another SUV at an intersection, being thrown about 20 feet in the air and then into one big fireball had burst .
The incident happened shortly after 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 24 at the intersection of Northwest Seventh Avenue and 11th Street, reports WSVN. Surveillance video captured the moment the white Lamborghini truck, which was reportedly rented from a Miami company, ran at high speed over a stop sign. The footage itself isn't perfect, but the full force of the impact can be seen. The Lamborghini spun away from the Nissan SUV, which struck it before rising into the air, crashing into the roof of the duplex. The expensive SUV then finally landed on the opposite side of the then unoccupied semi-detached house.

"It appears the car went through the air about 20 or 30 feet, landed on the roof of the house here, hit the tree and fell to the ground and burst into flames," said Timothy Heiser, deputy fire chief from Fort Lauderdale WSVN.

Witness Clarence Middleton was not far from the scene of the accident and, noticing the driver was trapped in the burning Urus, took immediate action. Middleton reportedly managed to pull the man out of the wreckage before taking him to safety.
The driver quickly regained his sanity after rescuing Middleton, and then apparently decided he didn't want to be around when police arrived at the scene. Middleton recalled watching the man sprint away from the scene wearing only socks. Police reportedly said the man was dazed from the accident and eventually went to a local hospital for treatment. WSVN reports that the Urus driver is now fully cooperating with local authorities and their investigations. R&T has contacted FLPD to resolve any pending criminal charges related to the accident.
Local10 reports that Nissan Pathfinder driver Mohammad Iqbal was transferred to Broward Health Medical Center after reporting pain in his chest and left hip at the scene. Iqbal later told the publication that his injuries were minor.
This is reportedly just one of several serious accidents that have occurred at this intersection. WSVN said residents have repeatedly urged local officials to change the intersection's design.
Let this incident serve as another example of why it's always important to move your eyes when approaching an intersection. While the driver of the Nissan SUV apparently did nothing wrong here, someone else's mistake could have cost her her life.
