Viola Davis shared a number of training photos on Instagram and she looks super strong.
Actress How To Get Away With Murder showed off her tight arms in kicks and abs in the photos.
Viola did intense weight training to prepare for action roles like Widow and Woman King.
Viola Davis, 55, doesn't need guns to get away with murder. The Oscar, Emmy and Tony winner always has her own guns with her. By guns, I mean her seriously tight and crazy strong arms.
Did anyone else know that Viola was Wonder Woman in disguise? (Just me?) Her fans were impressed with her muscles too, adding tons of emojis. One wrote: "These are the most beautiful guns I have ever seen."
Viola wrote in the caption with the trio of photos: "#WomanKing here I come !!!" Her new film, Woman King, is in preproduction and she's been working with her trainer Gabriela Mclain for the past two years to get into fighting shape. (For your information, the film follows the general of an all-female military unit, Viola, and her daughter who fought against the French and neighboring tribes to enslave their people and more.)
Mclain shared the same training photos and some BTS details on Instagram: "The results aren't free. There's no magic pill you can swallow. No fancy stuff. If you want to be a bad guy, you have to work for it .. . But what it takes is commitment, consistency and a lot of SWEAT. I've trained @violadavis for over two years and I want to tell you something, she brings all of this into play. She doesn't complain, she always pushes to the limit extremely humble and disciplined. Viola is always a pleasure to practice. She is a perfect example of how hard work pays off. ???? "
However, Viola maintained a badass workout routine long before Woman King. She added weight training to her regular workout regimen three times a week while filming Widows on USA Today. One step: weighted box steps. "We have done this so many times, sir, I lost the count," she said. Her arms seem to remember every move to date.
But in 2018, Viola got a surprising pre-diabetes diagnosis. "I was shocked because I always exercise and eat right," she told Everyday Health. “I felt fantastic. But let's go. Blood doesn't lie. "
Her answer: "I'll make it like a warrior! I'll try. It gets harder as you get older because my metabolism is different. I train three times a week with my husband and a trainer." Viola also follows a paleo diet and is hypervigilant about what she eats. Yam noodles and cauliflower pizza are now on your plate.
"You have to live your authentic self," Viola previously told Women's Health. Now everyone knows that their authentic self is a very strong woman.
