Wanna get away? Kirk Cousins lined up under his right guard on a key fourth-and-goal
Playing NFL quarterback is stressful. There is a lot you have to think about before each game.
However, the sub-center lineup should be pretty automatic once you've played the position for a few decades.
Kirk Cousins was having an embarrassing moment and it couldn't have come at a worse time. The Minnesota Vikings were 34-26 against the San Francisco 49ers. In the fourth quarter they drove within 10, then they went to fourth and gate.
Cousins made sure everyone was aligned but forgot to do it himself. For the snap, which of course comes from the middle, he positioned himself under the right guard. Alexander Mattison stormed up and tried to move Cousins into his right place under the center, but the music box timed out and Cousins had to call time out.
After the timeout, Cousins threw his receiver way over in the end zone and the 49ers took over on downs.
Cousins gets a lot of heartache, probably more than he deserves. But it's pretty hard to get out of this blunder.
