Washington releases two wide receivers on Monday
Two days after completing the NFL draft for 2021, the Washington Football team announced two roster changes.
The football team released wide receivers Jeff Badet and Trevor Davis on Monday.
The releases come as no surprise considering Washington drafted two broad receivers over the weekend. The team selected receiver Dyami Brown from North Carolina in the third round on Friday and the receiver Dax Milne from BYU in the seventh round on Saturday.
Badet joined the NFL in 2018 as an unoccupied Oklahoma free agent. Badet, known for his rapid speed, signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an unoccupied free agent. He was released after the 2018 season.
He played for the XFL in 2019 and had two test drives with the Chicago Bears and Carolina Panthers before signing with Washington's training team in September. He was put on the list several times, only to be released and re-enrolled in the exercise group.
In January, he signed a reserve / futures contract that put him on Washington's 90-man list.
Davis, a selection from Green Bay's fifth round in 2016, signed with the soccer team's training team in October. He never appeared in a game for Washington.
