Watch a Preview of New Beatles Documentary Get Back
Peter Jackson took the first look at his new documentary about the making of the 1970s Beatles album Let It Be. Originally scheduled for this year, The Beatles: Get Back has been postponed due to the pandemic, but as Jackson explains, his native New Zealand has brought COVID-19 under control and work has now resumed. The following video is not a trailer, he emphasizes, but a montage of scenes that have been collected for the film so far and that contain a sample recording of the film's title track. The film should now be released on August 27th next year.
The film includes a new book of the same name - the first official book to be credited to the band since The Beatles Anthology in 2000. This is August 31, 2021 and contains an introduction by Hanif Kureishi.
