Watch Billie Eilish Confront Jimmy Kimmel for Making Her Look "Stupid" During Infamous Viral Interview
Billie Eilish decided she might as well take the chance to call Jimmy Kimmel for her infamous previous interview that caused a stir on social media.
On Wednesday October 13th, 19-year-old music superstar attended Jimmy Kimmel Live, and Jimmy at one point mentioned that he had a copy of a bucket list she wrote in 2014. The 53-year-old presenter said Billie was 14 at the time, but she corrected him to make it clear that she was actually 12.
"Think about it, Jimmy," she said, seeming pleased with the moment. "How old were you in 2014?"
This was a natural transition for her to address her highly debated 2019 interview in which Jimmy asked Billie about a list of pop culture references that were popular when he was her age in 1984, many of which she was unfamiliar with seemed to be. These included Van Halen, Run-DMC, and Cabbage Patch Kids.
"Wait, really quick," Billie said with a big smile during the new interview. "Do you remember the last time I was here?" When Jimmy confirmed this, she continued, "And you made me look a little stupid."

This caused Jimmy to explain, "Well, by mistake. I didn't do it on purpose." Billie added, "I thought it was funny because I played along and everyone thought I was really serious and didn't know anything."
Jimmy then cut in, "As far as I remember, you weren't familiar with Van Halen and I thought, 'What!'" She replied, "Yes, there were a lot of things you asked and I said: ' I do not know.'"
He pointed out that “everyone jumped your throat like, 'Oh, you should know who Van Halen is.'” But the “bad guy” singer shared, “It was funny - I didn't care . "
Billie then stated she would try to baffle him by asking for popular Gen Z references, and Jimmy seemed excited about the potential challenge. Unfortunately, she couldn't seem to think of anything right away, and so they moved on.
In November 2019, Jimmy asked the then 17-year-old star if she knew Van Halen, to which she replied: "Who?" This led Jimmy to joke, "I'm going to start crying."

The following month, she appeared to be referring to the interview when she received an award at Variety's Hitmakers event, despite not mentioning Jimmy by name. "Thank you for not making me look stupid like everyone else on TV wants to do," said Billie from the podium to the event staff.
In the end, she seemed to have the last laugh at today's gig. One of her items on the 2014 bucket list was punching someone, so Jimmy had her playfully punch him in the chest. Watch how she makes this strange childhood dream come true in the video above.
