Week 16 sleepers for fantasy football
Fantasy football in 2020 requires patience, flexibility and a lot of woooooosaaaah. The most dedicated and passionate managers get this ... as they continue to find zeal in exploring the concepts and events that go under the radar. While there are times when your roster allows sleeping on sleepers, it is always beneficial to keep an eye on emerging trends and players. This weekly column is for those who understand how content it is to dig deep.
All of the players listed are in less than 60 percent of the Yahoo leagues (at the time of writing) and / or a significant fantasy in our daily play. They're not the obvious tips, and they're not without risks ... but that's what makes them so fascinating.
I reached the climax. Week 15 was IT. My wins have included: Jalen Hurts (QB1), Jeff Wilson (RB25), Russell Gage (WR15) and Tyler Higbee (TE7). Only two misses ... and one of them led his team's reception corps in glances. Lynn Bowden drew seven goals but didn't do much with them (6-37-0). Irv Smith, however, dropped a ball in the end zone.
Go to week 16!
Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Dolphins (21% on roster - $ 27)
Jalen Hurts is the best value in the DFS ($ 28), but he barely sleeps any more. Baker Mayfield (53% in the squad) was in a hot phase but is unlikely to give up much against the Jets (-9.5). And as a bear fan, I'm contractually bound not to overdo Mitchell Trubisky ... even when facing the jaguars.
This means that Tua remains an overlooked streamer with a top 15 win. Given coach Flo's background, it makes sense for him to rely on his defense and ground play. While Tua only ran an average of 26 attempts per competition, it was impressively efficient and recorded a true passerby rating of 100.8 (QB12). With four starters from the line-up in week 15, the rookie played a relatively flawless game (except for this mistake) and completed 20 of 26 passes.
He only threw 146 yards, but he also ran in two points and beat a division rival. Assuming DeVante Parker, Mike Gesicki, Jakeem Grant (who all have had limited training over the past week) and Myles Gaskin (who has been activated from the Reserve / Covid-19 list) watch out on Sunday, Tua could post some points in Las Vegas. Between the Soft Pass Rush (16 bags) and the generous Secondary (seventh highest passing yards allowed), the rookie is able to achieve repetitions in a confidence-building place.

Ito Smith, RB, Atlanta Falcons (11% on roster - $ 15)
I wrote about Todd Gurley's lack of explosiveness and a possible change of guard in the Falcons backfield before week 14. Smith had flashed in various places over the past two years and is clearly the most electrifying option in Atlanta. After Gurley recorded only three touches in week 15, Raheem Morris announced the obvious, stating that Judge Ito would now rule on the A-Town depth map.
Gameflow didn't allow Smith to do much against Tampa Bay last Sunday, but he averaged 4 yards per carry against a strong Bucs-Run defense. He also drew three looks in the passing game. With Gurley's time in Atlanta coming to an end, it's Smith's time to shine at Arrowhead in what could be a fast-paced getaway. The Chiefs are a defense that allows the opponents to run at them and give the opposing rushers the 10th most Fantasy Football Points and a YPC of 4.6. Fearless Prediction: 16 touches for 86 scrimmage yards
Bonus: Le'Veon Bell, RB, Kansas City Cheifs ($ 19)
I probably don't have to tell you this, but if CEH goes out, Bell will be a top 24 game in week 16. Fearless Forecast: OVER 90 Scrimmage Yards
Chad Hansen, WR, Houston Texans (3% on roster - $ 20)
Since Will Fuller's suspension, Hansen MMMBopped has found its way into three fantasy-relevant performances. While Brandin Cooks' absence certainly increased its target percentage, the Cal product has either scored or cleared 100 yards in two of its last three games.
As a member of #teamtallreceiver with more athleticism and strong hands, the 6-foot-2 Hansen has filled a massive void in Houston's reception corps, maintaining a Snap percentage of 92 percent and a top 17 Dominator rating (28%) . With Houston Defense Deshaun Watson consistently able to chase points and face a Bengals squad that allows for the seventh-highest YPR (11.5), Hansen's big-play ability should come into its own.
Austin Hooper, TE, Cleveland Browns (53% on roster - $ 15)
Managers may have hired Hooper, but they won't start it. Incidentally, this is a prudent decision. Since returning from a mid-season appendectomy, its use has been suspicious at best. In weeks 10 to 13 he only had an average of two receptions per competition. After missing his third contest in 2020, Hooper rolled out like Ben on the Bachelorette in week 15 and got a lot of unforeseen love. Second on team goals, Hooper converted five out of six balls for 41 yards and one result against the Giants last Sunday. With Baker feeling himself - and facing a Jets team that allows the most fantasy points for opposing TEs (remember Tyler Higbee called last week?) - Hooper enters the fantasy finals in top 12 -Appeal.

Tyler Eifert, TE, Jacksonville Jaguars (6% on roster - $ 14)
We have been here before and will return again. The change in QB doesn't seem to have affected Eiefert's volume as he was third on the team last week. Eifert converted three of four balls and had his highest mileage of the season (51) in Week 15 with Gardner Minshew in the middle. This Sunday he faces a bear defense that scores the second highest points on the position (77.5 yards per week and a total of 4 TDs in the last four weeks) ... and was lucky enough to have an Irv Smith drop last week to give up another score.
