Wenger 'convinced' Barcelona will sign another forward, expects Griezmann improvement
Arsene Wenger is "convinced" that Barcelona will sign another striker, although Antoine Griezmann expects an improvement.
Griezmann struggled to be in top form in his first season at Barca. He has scored 14 goals in 37 games since arriving from Atletico Madrid, worth € 120 million.
Barca is closely linked to a move from Interstar Lautaro Martinez, who is considered a long-term replacement for Luis Suarez.
Former Arsenal manager Wenger believes Griezmann will improve, but believes Barcelona will add another striker this season.
"Barcelona have always bought the best players. I personally am not sure if Suarez needs to be replaced," he told beIN SPORTS.
"You can add another striker because it is true that Suarez and [Lionel] Messi are the main culprits and they may need someone to score goals.
"I still think that Griezmann will start scoring goals at some point. He doesn't look fully adjusted. Maybe he will be refreshed after the delivery because he is also a good scorer."
"But I'm convinced that they will buy another striker too."
While Messi has scored 24 goals this season, Suarez - like Griezmann - has contributed 14 despite having played less in 14 games.
Barcelona, two points ahead of LaLiga, are continuing their campaign in Mallorca on Saturday.
