'Wheel of Fortune' contestant gives one of the worst guesses in the show’s history

On Wheel of Fortune Thursday, one of the contestants, Matt, made what was perhaps one of the worst guesses in the show's history. To make matters worse, he had only guessed one letter, three of which were on the board, that wasn't even his guess. Although the second word began with an N and the last word contained two Ns, which Matt wrote on the board, he suspected "The Best Buttercut," and viewers couldn't help but share their thoughts, though there was confusion as to whether he was "Buttercut" or "Buttercup" said.

"The best buttercup" sounds like something a person could say when the anesthesia wears off. #Wheel of Fortune

Even though Pat Sajak was off camera, his sarcasm was clear. Following Matt's guess, Sajak replied, “Uh, no. Strangely enough, no. "
Matt was just a little off because the correct answer was "The Next Generation". Though he went through life with the humiliation of guessing "The Best Buttercut" when that was clearly not the answer, Matt won and took home a nice piece of change.

The wheel of fortune ended on Monday on a sad note after long-time host Pat Sajak announced that his 12-year-old dog Stella had recently passed away. He called it "a very sad time for the Sajak family". He decided to honor Stella by showing a few photos of her in "happier times". They contained a picture of her frolicking in the snow with a Dalmatian ceramic statue and a photo of Stella sitting with Sajak. And his Stella greeting definitely hit a nerve with the viewers, who went to Twitter with lots of nice words and good wishes.
