White House Chief Of Staff Mark Meadows Hosted Large Wedding Despite COVID-19 Restrictions

White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows ignored the restrictions of the coronavirus when he hosted a large, mostly maskless wedding for his daughter.
About 70 people attended Haley Meadows Kocher's wedding on May 31, the Atlanta Journal constitution reported for the first time. The wedding, held at the Biltmore Ballrooms in Atlanta, was attended by dozens of non-masked attendees, according to photos from the publication.
At the time of the wedding, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp (R) had issued an order banning gatherings of more than 10 people amid the deadly pandemic. That didn't stop Meadows from ending the wedding. One attendee told CNN that there was no social distancing during the event.
"I didn't feel safe," the guest told CNN. "I made a decision that I was going to get COVID anyway because I decided to go, so I assumed that I had a better chance of getting it by going."
Meadows had his Secret Service detail with him during the wedding, and Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan (R) was also reportedly in attendance.
Meadows declined to comment on the Atlanta Journal, New York Times, and CNN constitution. HuffPost asked Jordan for a comment.
Mike Moon, a photographer for the event, told the New York Times Thursday that workers were wearing masks, but many attendees weren't.
“Salespeople wore masks and some of the guests wore them if they wanted,” Moon told the publication.
The coronavirus has killed more than 7,000 people in Georgia. And Meadows is now grappling with a White House where more than a dozen top officials - including President Donald Trump - have been infected with the virus.
