White House Gives Sen. John Cornyn A Lesson In Presidential Behavior

The White House responded to comments from Senator John Cornyn, R-Texas, who pointed out that for not making a steady stream of bullying, obnoxious, fake tweets like Donald Trump, President Joe Biden is not "responsible."
Cornyn recently tweeted a quote from an article by Politico that said Biden “doesn't do interviews on cable news. Tweets from his account are limited and, when they come, inconceivably conventional. "
The Senator added, "Which begs the question, is he really responsible?"
White House press secretary Jen Psaki agreed Monday that Biden's tweets were not compared to those of Trump, who was permanently banned from Twitter.
"I can confirm that the President of the United States does not spend his time tweeting conspiracy theories," Psaki told reporters. "He spends his time working for the American people."
Washington Post political reporter Aaron Blake noted that Cornyn's tweet might actually have been more scary than clueless. Blake alleged Cornyn was trying to advance a GOP narrative that saw Biden being manipulated by others, including Vice President Kamala Harris. He called Cornyn's dig an "unsubstantiated and ugly allusion".
"There is no legitimate reason to believe that [Biden] is not making all the kinds of decisions that a president normally makes behind closed doors," Blake wrote. “Biden's familiarity with the topics is much more evident than that of his predecessor. Trump often seemed unaware of basic politics and major legislative initiatives, and he repeatedly contradicted his own officials. Even so, Trump's involvement in major decisions has never been questioned by Republicans like Cornyn. "
