White House Residence Staffer Saw An Immediate Difference Between Trumps, Bidens

A White House official recalled how the stark differences between ex-President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden regarding COVID-19 became apparent on the day of Biden's inauguration.
The unnamed employee told how colleagues gathered in a room in the White House on January 20 to bid farewell to outgoing President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.
Later that day, the same staff members greeted newly inducted President and First Lady Jill Biden, but they were lined up across the State Floor.
"It's like night and day," the associate told The New Yorker, pointing out the social differences between outgoing and incoming first-time families in an article published on Feb. 24, which is now gaining prominence online.
"The Bidens walked in and the first thing they did was loop around the state floor and greet the staff," the employee recalled. “We were all very flattered. We usually meet her in the first few days or weeks, but never in the first few minutes. "
Trump downplayed the risk of the coronavirus while privately admitting that it was "fatal". He hosted jam-packed campaign events full of maskless supporters, mocked people who wore masks and hyped up unproven and dangerous treatments. Shambolic mistreatment of the pandemic by his government helped seal his defeat.
The former president eventually contracted the virus himself and was hospitalized for three days. Last month, it was found that Trump's condition was worse than reported at the time.
Meanwhile, Biden hosted socially distant campaign events and pledged to follow science in the fight against the pandemic.
More than 516,000 Americans have now died from COVID-19.
