Why Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino Was Moved to Tears After Wife Lauren's Pregnancy Reveal

Big Daddy Sitch is ready to expand his family.
Less than a week after Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino announced that his wife Lauren Sorrentino is expecting another baby, the Jersey Shore Family Vacation star shares how excited he is to have another Guido - or Guidette - in his household to have.
"I always wanted to have about three kids, but after having my first I was definitely a little apprehensive," Mike exclusively shared with E! News. “Will me and my wife be able to handle this? But when my wife was pregnant, we were so excited. We are so excited that the babies will be the same age.”

The MTV star also said he was surprised it happened so quickly given Lauren's difficult journey to becoming a mother. Before Lauren welcomed Romeo Reign Sorrentino in May 2021, she shared that she suffered a miscarriage in 2019.
Given the couple's past, Mike said Lauren's big pregnancy reveal was downright emotional.

"My wife came down the stairs and she had a Big Brother shirt on Romeo and that was the surprise," he said. "I was in tears. It was an incredible moment."

As the couple prepares to welcome another child in early 2023, Mike isn't ready to share his baby's gender just yet.
"I hope for a healthy baby," he explained. "If it were two boys, that would be great. But even a boy and a girl would balance the family and that would be even more amazing too.”
However, he is quick to remind couples struggling with fertility to never give up on starting a family of their own. "We had no idea what the future would bring," Mike shared. "We really just kept faith and lifted and dusted each other and we kept moving forward day by day. It finally worked out and now we're leaving for baby number two and we feel so definitely living our best lives."

He also has some fun before it's time to change some more diapers. On August 5, Mike competed in the American Cornhole League's SuperHole III Championship. Despite not taking home the grand prize for his charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Mike vowed to keep fighting and "turn that L into a lesson."
"Cornhole is a great sport," he said, "and I love it so much." And besides, the comeback is always bigger than the setback.
Jersey Shore Family Vacation airs Thursday nights at 8 p.m. on MTV. And check out E!'s Daily Pop on August 9th for more from Mike.
