Woman Allegedly Set Husband On Fire As He Slept After Believing He Poisoned Her Chicken Wings

A Wisconsin woman reportedly set her sleeping husband on fire after convincing herself that he tried to poison her with chicken wings.
Henry Williams woke up June 3 with his hair burning, causing him to desperately try to put out the flames with his hands, reports WDJT-TV. He then picked up his three-month-old daughter and fled the Milwaukee home he shares with his wife, Tuhonsty Marie Smith.
Investigators believe Smith set him on fire and they charged them with building arson, reckless endangering security and first degree chaos, and domestic violence assessments. Williams suffered second and third degree burns in the incident.
Williams told police his wife's behavior had changed in recent months. He said he told her a few days before the fiery incident that he was going to end her marriage, which, according to the WDYD, allegedly led to even more unpredictable behavior on her part. The Milwaukee Police Department did not immediately respond to Oxygen.com's request for comment.

According to a criminal complaint received from the station, Smith told authorities that she believed her husband poisoned chicken wings that she ate hours before the fire.
Smith allegedly admitted filling a cup with lighter fluid and pouring it on her husband's head. Then she is said to have lit the fire with a lighter.
The woman has to undergo a competence assessment on Tuesday after her first appearance in court. She is being held on bail for $ 25,000. It's not clear if she has a lawyer.
"Because I've known Henry since he was a child, only heartbroken for him," the couple's owner and friend, Denise Wilson, told WDJT OK, that's my main concern. "
She said he is on "a long road to recovery with his burns, but will be fine" in the end.
