[CROWD CHEERING]
NICK BROMBERG: It's two games in two for the United States at the 2022 World Cup. The United States drew 0-0 with England in their much-anticipated Group B game on Black Friday. Although England had the most possession, it's not difficult to say that the USA were the better team. They created more chances in the attacking third, ending with 10 shots at England's eights. USA's best chance came just after 30 minutes when Christian Pulisic hit the bar. That came about seven minutes after Weston McKennie found himself unmarked in the center of the box when a Tim Weah cross came in, but McKinnie's first shot didn't come close to missing the target.

The tie means the USA are still without a loss against England in three World Cup encounters and the goalless game is the first time the USA have kept a European team scoreless at a World Cup since keeping England in the team's first world 1-0 in the 1950 Cup match. The tie isn't a bad result for the United States either, especially after Iran beat Wales 2-0 earlier in the day. The USA always faced a win-and-in situation against Iran on Tuesday after the draw with Wales.
And a tie means the USA don't need any help to advance to the knockout rounds as they currently lie in third place by two points. A win would give the US five total points, and even a group win if Wales somehow beat England. If England wins or draws, the US would come through in second place unless they dominate Iran. But no matter what, the US must beat Iran to advance. Another draw will not be enough.
