A star-studded list of LGBTQ + voices and allies, including Billy Porter, Adam Lambert and Ricky Martin, gather together for iHeartRadio's COVID-19 aid event Can't Cancel Pride: Helping LGBTQ + People in Need.
The one-hour special, moderated by Z100's Elvis Duran and actress Laverne Cox, aims to raise $ 5 million to help the coronavirus-affected LGBTQ + community. Can't Cancel Pride also stands in solidarity with the black community in their ongoing struggle for justice and equality.
"There's no question COVID-19 has impacted the LGBTQ + community in many ways, and the struggle for equality and inclusion has never been more important in the United States," said Gayle Troberman, chief marketing officer of iHeartMedia, in one Press release. "Now is a time when we need to get together to support the organizations that help LGBTQ people in need get essential resources, and Can't Cancel Pride wants to do just that."
Spectators can expect, among others, Katy Perry, Sia, Kim Petras, Nico Tortorella, Tituss Burgess and Ben Platt. Donations raised through the event go to organizations that support the LGBTQ + community, including the National Black Justice Coalition, the Trevor Project, Outright, GLAAD, SAGE, and CenterLink.
