Your January Horoscope Is Here
Welcome to a new month - and a whole new year. This is our annual opportunity to reset, recharge, and recover in preparation for the next 12 months. Since the sun is still in the ambitious, driven Capricorn, we have the chance to hold out our resolutions to completion (or at least to tackle them in the first place). And when Aquarius season kicks off on the 19th, our minds will turn from self-improvement to total reinvention. Bowing to the status quo is simply not enough when the sun is in this radical sign of individualism. We'll be much better off if we follow our own pace.

While most of January should put you on the right foot for 2021, the first retrograde Mercury of the year will hit Aquarius on the 30th. Now, get ready and hope you stay on course through February.
Aries (March 21st - April 19th)
You are entering 2021 with the wind at your back, Aries, not least thanks to Mars. Your ruling planet has had an extended, retrograde sojourn in Your Sign since June 2020, revving your spiritual engines and raising questions about where to direct your energies. But after the dust and glitter of the New Year settle, it will pass into your neighboring shield, Taurus, on the 6th. From this point of view, Mars will help you see where and how you can use your natural strength and power to make money. Be careful not to get greedy or selfish with your money this month and instead consider ways to turn your impulses into prudent decisions that will benefit your finances in the long run.

The new moon on the 13th will further highlight your earning potential as it will take place in your home of career and prestige. You like people to know who you are, Aries, especially when these people happen to be holding your wallet at work. However, the question remains, what do you do after they find out your name? Are you working your notoriety to your advantage? This is a wonderful opportunity to set new goals and plans to shine (and be rewarded for that shine) in the office.
Taurus (April 20th - May 20th)
Does the term "raging bull" mean something to you? When Mars, the planet of conflict and confrontation, enters your sign on January 6th, your normally peaceful demeanor will be imbued with a dose of fiery passion. We feel sorry for anyone who gets in your way, tells you no, or simply questions your motives. Use your passion for productive use and let yourself be firmly committed (instead of biting someone's head off).

And after Uranus finishes its five-month regression in your shield on the 14th, you will feel even more free to use that excess energy. Since August 2020, this mad scientist of a planet has been asking you to review your lifestyle and change (or give up altogether) habits and behaviors that you have held onto for too long. As it steers the course, changes to your outward-looking life (your means of self-expression as others see you) become easier. As you undergo this personal development (which will continue until Uranus leaves Your Sign in 2026) it is natural to rub yourself away from change - after all, you are the persistent bull. Breaking out of your old habits doesn't have to be scary. Just treat it like a bull (read: slow and steady) and you will find your stand.
Gemini (May 21 - June 20)
Your 2021 seems to be off to a quiet start, but that's just because there's so much going on beneath the surface, Gemini. During this month you will be making subtle strides in your relationships. This may not be the time to swap keys or buy rings, but it is a wonderful time to test the depths of the waters of your romance (or that of your friendships). What kind of conversations do you have late at night? Are you sharing more private data than before? Are you learning about their fantasies and desires? Although this type of intimate knowledge can be exchanged straight off the shelf, it reflects an intense level of mutual trust.

When the sun transitions into the other sign of the air, Aquarius, on the 19th, you will be glad you spent the first half of the month nurturing and watching your closest relationships grow. Because for the next 30 days you are feeling independent, intrepid, and ready to jump into a new hobby, opportunity, or even job, the logistics are doomed. This will be a refreshing change for you as your sign tends to get lost in facts, figures, and information (blame your ruling planet, analytic Mercury). Just make sure the bigger picture isn't so enticing that you miss a clear deal breaker in the details.
Cancer (June 21 - July 22)
Love - or at least the potential for it - is in the air for you when January and 2021 total start cancer. Venus joins your partnership sector on the 8th and gives your closest relationships a rosy glow. Your already affectionate sign will be all the more conflict-averse during this time and will choose to prioritize the needs of your loved ones over your own. The new moon on the 13th will remind you of the real meaning of compromise: while it is wonderful to meet your S.O. and best friends, your M.O. shouldn't be putting it off at any point. Make sure you get your fair share, dear crab.

The full moon in Leo will arrive on the 28th and will end the month with a laundry list of questions. Usually they revolve around your relationship with money, but given the overarching topic of partnerships this month, they will go into more detail about the role of money in your relationships. Who picks up the check most nights? Do your spending habits match those of your S.O. match? Where else in your relationships, aside from the literal meaning of money, do you notice transactions taking place? Is love, caring, and intimate knowledge voluntary, or is it offered in exchange for something else?
Leo (July 23rd - August 22nd)
If you haven't already made work-related New Year's resolutions, let this be your guide. You will be glad you heeded our warning on the 6th when the maker Mars invades your career sector and increases your professional ambitions. This is a great time to put your nose to the grindstone (and actually see the results of your work). You may be naturally inclined to log longer hours or take on additional tasks. Be careful of burnout during this transportation - make sure you have an outlet to vent steam outside of working hours. And be careful that in your attempts to shine brightly yourself, you are not exterminating someone else's star. Butt heads will only slow you both down.

The sun moves into your partnership sector on the 19th, giving you the annual opportunity to create a better sense of equality in your relationships. This does not mean that every meaningful connection in your life has to strike a precise balance between give and take, but rather that you and your loved ones should be at peace with the flow of things. Affection, care, work, and effort shouldn't be exchanged through one-way channels, Leo. Check in with your BFFs and S.O. to make sure this is not the current state of affairs.

Virgo (August 23rd - September 22nd)
Far be it from you to brag about it, so we'll do it for you: You're a pro when it comes to New Year's resolutions. As long as you really want something (and have a clear, detailed plan for how to get it), very little can stand in your way of getting it, Virgo. This year's self-improvement season is particularly suitable for resolutions relating to your wellbeing. Before putting into practice your instincts to rationalize and regulate every part of your life, it should be clear that these resolutions need not necessarily focus on sacrificing, limiting, or limiting anything in your life. It's one thing to drink more water - it's another to get all tasty, potentially sugary drinks out of your refrigerator. When Mercury steps into your spa on the 8th, it will help you develop a thoughtful strategy (one that is allowed to take breaks from time to time) for healthier living in 2021.

This month's overall self-care theme will deal a quick and final blow on the 28th with a full moon. This usually solemn moon phase will push you to spend the night quietly, and ideally away from your phone, to-do list, and work computer. Put aside the needs of the outside world, experience a night of solidarity with your family and roommates, and take the time to be alone for at least a while. Another extraordinary year has only just begun - you will need your rest.
Libra (September 22nd - October 23rd)
Are you ready to exercise your extreme makeover muscles, Libra? When Venus moves into your domestic space on the 8th, a wave of interior design inspiration will flood you, pushing you to develop a sense of comfort and security in your living space. However, you may also feel this energy on a deeper level (not that finding the perfect peel-and-stick wallpaper is superficial). The people you call your family should also contribute to this general feeling of security. The new moon on the 13th will help you clearly define your personal idea of "home", including a plan to maintain an atmosphere in which you feel more free to express your private self (which is a change in your physical space or inner circle could mean).

The full moon on the 28th demands your attention outside the home - namely, your peacekeeping skills may be required between co-workers or neighbors. Even if you have been asked to mediate a conflict between these parties for the umpteenth time, you will find a way to thread the needle and find a compromise. After a more homely start to the month, this will be a welcome reminder of how much your larger network benefits from your skills.
Scorpio (October 23rd - November 21st)
While you may not be as free to show it off as other signs in the zodiac, you are no doubt passionate about Scorp, especially when it comes to the ones you care about. By the 6th, the role of passion will come to the fore in your relationships - and you may find that she plays the lead when she's better off as a supporting character. Discussions could lead to lengthy arguments; Light flirtations could turn into affairs. Previously stable partnerships could suddenly turn hot and cold. Listen to your impulses before reacting to them this month. There's nothing wrong with a little heat, provided you don't get burned.

If you find that your temper is too hot, there is an option to retreat on the 19th when Aquarius season begins and the sun beckons you home for your annual breeding season. You probably feel like you've nested a lot over the past year, but were you doing it on purpose? Over the next 30 days, you will be asked to exist at home with purpose, preserve the physical living space, break down your memories for timely instruction, and develop a sense of care and cooperation between your roommates and family members.
Sagittarius (November 22nd - December 21st)
Heaven is asking you to put away childish things, say. The sun is still in your financial house and the motivating Mars will find its way into your wellness area on the 6th. If you're not already working towards a clean blackboard for your wallet and well-being in the New Year, now is the time to do it. Revise your bedtime rituals or redefine how you topped up your emergency fund. It's best to make small changes first, or even take a new test drive with your new routine so you don't feel choked or caught up in a lifestyle that doesn't actually suit you. You also have the brilliant opportunity to break free from everyday life towards the end of the month.

The full moon on the 28th allows you to embrace your entire sagittarian self: after a month deep in your checkbook and to-do list, you will feel reinvigorated to look beyond the base needs of your daily life and indulging in a little exploration, even risk taking. The full moon radiates its emotionally refreshing energy right into your impulses - that voice that urges you to take the long way home to buy a guitar when you only know two chords, to embark on a new project while you are still work on it Another. Where are you going right now, Archer? Use this evening to set your sights on something completely new and aim to land on solid ground at takeoff.
Capricorn (December 22nd - January 19th)
Your birthday season is not over yet, but you can get out of Celebration mode early this month if you're busy. You owe Mercury in no small part for this sudden change: on January 6th, it will move into your financial sector, maximizing your cash-in-making potential while discovering inventive new ways to save the money you already have. Don't worry about looking business-like or tricky - this is a wonderful way to prepare for the first Mercury retrograde in 2021, which starts on the 30th and potentially destabilizes your previously prosperous financial condition.

Try to have fun this month, if only for Venus' sake. The planet of love and beauty will appear in your shield on the 8th and will do its best to instill a little forbearance and flirtation if you can muster up. Make time for a home spa session or a day with your S.O. Doing something for no other reason than just to make you feel good isn't wasting your time - some would argue that it actually makes the most of your time.

Aquarius (January 20th - February 18th)
Mercury is moving into your shield on the 8th, setting your mind moving quickly for the new year. You are full of ideas and would like to share them with others, but you may not be able to clearly illustrate your points in your excitement about getting them out to the public. For the next few weeks, your challenge will be to sort your thoughts before you act on them - and to know when a plan needs to go through a while before it's actually put into action. When you are feeling anxious or stressed out, look to the relaxing new moon on the 13th. As you watch its energies, a much needed time of mental calm and tranquility will be your reward.

Now, in more exciting news, your birthday season starts on the 19th. For the next 30 days, the sun will camp in your shield, highlighting your strengths and showing where you can continue to grow as a person. You are open to learning opportunities regardless of the time of year, but this month-long period provides the foundation for particularly successful personal development if you are willing to set up your own business and make the effort. Note, however, that the upcoming Mercury is retrograde on the 30th, which arrives at your sign, and it may hinder some of these efforts.
Pisces (February 19 - March 20)
Matters outside of you - those that involve your daily chores, your co-workers and friends, even your local community as a whole - will require most of your attention at the beginning of the month, Pisces. When invigorating Mars moves into your communication house on the 6th, you will feel energized and be able to take the call, but the red planet will disperse your focus as well. Keep your priorities clear with to-do lists, timed reminders, or a good old sticky note on the bathroom mirror. If you drop the ball on something and someone tells you to do so, do what you can to avoid an explosion.

Take the time to retire when Aquarius season kicks off on the 19th. You will need some rest and relaxation ahead of your next month's birthday season, and the old soul inclinations of your sign will enjoy the opportunity to reflect on the past 12 months - especially the lessons you learned about yourself during this time. This thoughtful, possibly melancholy phase is given some practicality on the 28th when the full moon lights up your spa. Surely you've been thinking about your health and wellbeing lately, but what can you do to get from survival to thriving, Pisces? Pivot your wellness routine to one that prepares you for future success and longevity.
