Zoë Kravitz Is the Chicest Catwoman Ever In First-Look Photo

Apologies to Anne Hathaway, Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry - the chicest Catwoman title could only belong to Zoë Kravitz. Fans got their first look at the actress in the role of Selina Kyle with a photo from the UK set of The Batman on Monday. It's the only time Kravitz has been seen publicly during production, which resumed in September after star Robert Pattinson recovered from COVID-19.
In the photo, Kravitz is wearing a slim asymmetrical bob, fishnet tights, and a matching leather ensemble. Her trench coat, her headgear and her boots with buttons complete the leather look. Kravitz appears to be walking down the steps of a courthouse or government building with two men in suits. Batman Hive, your time to thoroughly disassemble this image begins now.

Another picture shows Kravitz closing his arms with co-star John Turturro, who plays the vicious Carmine Falcone in the film.

And a fresh look at Pattinson as Bruce Wayne shows the actor looking stern in a wool coat and dark suit.

The first look comes almost a year after director Matt Reeves confirmed Kravitz's casting. He tweeted a GIF of the actress, which he also did to recognize Pattinson's casting as Batman, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred, Colin Farrell as the penguin, and Peter Sarsgaard in an unspecified role.
This isn't Kravitz's first brush with the role of Catwoman. She voiced the Claw character in The Lego Batman Movie 2017. In 2015, Kravitz announced to Nylon that she had been denied the opportunity to audition for The Dark Knight Rises 2012 because she was deemed too "urban".
The Batman has seen several date changes since filming for the film was delayed in March. Originally scheduled for June 2021 release date, the movie was postponed to October 2021 before the current release date was found: March 4, 2022. With that fabulous first photo we're counting down the days.
